Description
Zeus and Possum
As a volunteer at our local Gulf Coast Humane Society in Corpus Christi, TX, I have been given the privilege of photographing the wonderful dogs and cats. Zeus (Great Dane) was brought to the shelter and adopted by one of our wonderful trainers. Zeus is deaf and responds to sign language. Possum (Catahoula mix) was 1 of a litter of 9, whose mother was sitting on the side of the road after being hit by a car, she was rescued and the owner never claimed her. Possum is still waiting for his forever home. GCHS is a no kill shelter and came to the aid of both of these wonderful dogs. These are the lucky ones.

What a wonderful image. Zeus looks so regal against that awesome window - oblivious to the camera. I bow to you in respect for volunteering your time & I wish all shelters were no kill! I would love to volunteer - I take care of my mother who is 84 & has Dementia & look after a group of feral cats that have now become quite tame. This image would look great above a huge mantle or fireplace! F/V

Thank you so much. Zues has the most beautiful blue eyes and a real sweetheart. Possum was lucky that my sister was the rescued mom and pups. Hopefully will find a home soon. Volunteering is very fulfilling, but it can be heartbreaking too. I just keep going. I understand the challenge of dementia, had a favorite Aunt that suffered with altzhiemers. Many blessing to you. - Terry
